Walk on
Til fear turns to faith and faith becomes sight
Where strength begins
You’ve got to press on
Move on through the pain
Move on to the place
Where weakness ends
Where strength begins

Scripture Verse
‘Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. ‘ Philippians 3:12-14 https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PHP.3.12-14

The Story Behind The Song
I remember seeing a video once about a winter Olympian who would train by going out into the bitter cold where he lived and woalking through snowdrifts until he was breathless. After hours of training, he went home and collapsed on the bed.

If you want to get to the level of an Olympian, then the training is tough. You don’t match the strength and skill of other world-class athletes without enduring pain. In fact, it’s really in the middle of the pain that you find the strength you need to excel.

I thought about the truth – and the video I had seen – one day as I counseled a man at our church. He had been through a few major difficulties – a broken marriage, health issues, etc. As he looked for strength, I told him that we’ve all been through times when we think we can’t go on, when we’re at the end of ourselves.

But it’s in times like this when God seems to say, “You’re right where I want you to be.” It’s then that we see our next step is in the power of Christ. As we take step by step by step, God begins to do something new in us. But it starts when we admit we’re weak. That’s where strength begins. Paul tells us this in 2 Corinthians 12:9: ‘But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. ‘ 2 Corinthians 12:9 https://www.bible.com/bible/111/2CO.12.9

One day you get up and you wonder, “How did I get here?” You’re feeling stronger. Your energy has returned. You know you didn’t get here on your own. You couldn’t have. You remember when you were completely washed up, completely out of strength. It’s then you realize that you go here by the grace of God.  That truth is why I began writing, “Where Strength Begins.”

Because I know if I keep on walking
Through the fire
I’ll be a newer, stronger man of God

i wanted others to discover this amazing truth. Our strength comes when we’re at our weakest because that’s where GOd reveals His strenghth to us. We all need to be reminded of that. I know I do.
